An EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) is an essential piece of marine kit that is registered to your vessel and connects to search and rescue services in the event of an emergency. When activated, the EPIRB will transmit its location via 406MHZ and, if it has GPS capability, it will broadcast an accurate position of the vessel.
We offer EPIRBs by the leading manufacturers, including McMurdo and Ocean Signal. The popular Ocean Signal EPIRB1 combines EPIRB with GPS-capability, while the latest McMurdo Smartfind G8 combines an EPIRB with AIS to reduce rescue times. Find out more about EPIRBs and how they work with our guide to safety beacons.
For complete safety at sea, don’t forget a PLB (personal locator beacon) and good quality life jacket.
