Q. Is the new RCU-1 compatible with older autopilots?
A. No. The RCU-1 is only compatible with Evolution-series pilots. SPX, X-Series and older Seatalk-1 autopilots are not compatible.
Q. Does the RCU-1 support trolling patterns for fishing?
A. No. Trolling patterns are not accessible or controllable from RCU-1.
Q. Can I link more than one RCU-1 to the wireless gateway?
A. The WG-1 supports simultaneous connection of up to 3 RCU-1 remote controls.
Q. Does the RCU-1 float?
A. No. But it’s easy to wear on a lanyard or stow in its included mount.
Q. Can I use rechargeable “AA” batteries in the RCU-1?
A. Yes. Standard NiMh or NiCd rechargeable batteries can be used in it, if desired. Charge them externally.
Q. What is the connector on the WG-1 wireless gateway?
A. The WG-1 is fitted with a standard NMEA 2000 DeviceNet connector. WG-1 includes a 1-meter SeaTalk NG to DeviceNet adapter cable in the box
Q. What is the range of the RCU-1 from the WG-1 gateway?
A. The wireless range is approximately 30 meters (98 feet).
Q. If the RCU-1 is Bluetooth, can I just link it to Axiom and skip the WG-1?
A. No. The WG-1 is required for all RCU-1 installations.
